SCINTILLATION PLASTIC: Typically Bicron BC-400 or Nuclear Enterprises NE-102. This is the world’s largest
private stock of Scintillation Plastic. (Approx. 3000 lbs). Efficient for charged particle and neutron detection,
but less efficient for gamma ray detection. (Re: NaI(Tl) Scint. Crystals). Prices range from about $8/lb for rough cast billets in large quantities to $50/lb for small quantities of polished, finished plastic scintillator. Quantity discounts
available for your large scale, low cost particle detector array. Please inquire. This organic scintillator has the following basic specifications: Density; 1.032, Refractive index: 1.58, Wavelength of max. emission; 425 nm, 2.4 nS decay constant. Softening point approx. 70 deg. C. Sizes available range from: 4-1/2"OD rods, and Blocks: 12"x12"x4" Sheets to 2" thick. (to 39" square). Both rough cast billets and finished cylinders and torus's are available.
